Over 270 Beneficiaries Receive Life-Changing Support in 2026.
In a remarkable demonstration of Islamic social responsibility, The Companion Zakat and Sadaqah Foundation has disbursed over N133 million in zakat proceeds to 260 beneficiaries across six states, including Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Cross River, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The landmark distribution, which marked the 13th edition of the Foundation’s annual Zakat Distribution Ceremony, reinforces The Companion’s commitment to poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, and sustainable human development.
Of the total collection, N47 million was allocated to the Lagos District for local distribution, where beneficiaries received support ranging from scholarships and business expansion grants to trade equipment, healthcare assistance, and production tools. Items distributed included deep freezers, sewing machines, generators, and food-processing tools—all designed to promote long-term economic self-reliance.
